Fertilizer use and consumption in Asia and its effect on food security
Total fertilizer consumption in Asia reached 57 million tons in 1993, equivalent to 45% of total world consumption. Balanced NPK fertilization is necessary to exploit the full yield potential of today’s modern crop varieties. Prices stability for food crops and farming inputs has to be aimed it by agricultural policies to encourage farmers to intensify production.
